ASAMI is a new artist and french independent composer.
His music is focused on the EDM (Electro Dance Mix) and on the Dubstep
Very influenced by artists such as David Guetta or Daft Punk, Asami decides in turn to start composing music with passion and share his creations on Soundcloud
Asami released his first title EDM ‘WELCOME’ on Soundcloud recently and preparing actually a second title.

Exposed Vocals :  How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?

ASAMI : I chose the name Asami for many reasons, the first reason is because I found very cute name, the second reason is because it’ is a Japanese name, because in the future I plan to live in Japan and I believed it was important to adopt a Japanese name.

Also, I chose this name because I am suffering from an identity problem (I’m transgender) this which explains the choice of a female name.

Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

ASAMI : I think that online music sharing is very important because it allows independent artists like myself to share his music, to show that we the independent artists also we exist with popular artists in this giant world which is that of music. Today, thanks to the Internet and to social networks it is easy for an artist to share and propagate his music and also thanks  the sharing of music online, we independent artists we can create our place in the world of music.

As for me, I share my music for free on SoundCloud, because doing commercial music does not interest me. Because for me, music is a passion.

Exposed Vocals : Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?

ASAMI : I’m sorry but I know of no group or local artist that seeks to do lives . But in terms of advice, I think we need have a muscial catalog with multiple titles for produce a concert, have a small community and start doing promotion. And with the internet and social networks it’is easy but we must find our audience

Exposed Vocals : Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?

ASAMI : I do not have a full catalog of music because I’m a new artist, so I can not do any concerts yet and I can not answer this question but I hope live this experience one day

Exposed Vocals : Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?

ASAMI : I think in a concert we expect surprises, a festive atmosphere, seeing our favorite artist. I have already had occassion to go to concerts and it always happened something unexpected and this is the magic of a concert : do something that surprises us.

Exposed Vocals : Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?

ASAMI : It’s not writing in my case, but the melodies. Everything is in my mind, sometimes it happens that I listen to a song for have ideas. But usually it’s by playing the sounds of my sound library (the VST) of my production software that I find ideas and I have inspiration after a while. Infact I imagine a composition with sounds that I heard in my mind and then when I feel that I hold an idea, I get to work. It’s quite complicated to explain but for example is like when you want to write a text, you have full sentences in your mind and you try to assemble them in your memory to form a text. and in my case it’s the same thing but for sounds.

Exposed Vocals : Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?

ASAMI : For the moment I do not have a website, I only communicate on Twitter where I am very active. And for the sharing of my music, I share it only on Soundcloud and Twitter

Exposed Vocals : What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?

ASAMI : I released two titles in hour as we speak and I am proud of my creations so I do not see one of my creations that would be embarrassing

Exposed Vocals : If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?

ASAMI : If I were given half a million dollars, I organize concerts in several cities in the world, I buy additional hardware and software for develop my music and I give the rest to people who are in need such as the homeless by example and to humanitarian associations

Exposed Vocals :  Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?

ASAMI : For the moment I’m not thinking about that, I think to evolve and to develop my music because it’ is my priority. Currently I working on new titles, I have full of ideas and I hope people will enjoy my creations.

Exposed Vocals : How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?

ASAMI : I promote of my music on Twitter and Soundcloud. On Twitter I already full of subscribers and I have a new subscribers every day, I win in visibility. I announce my future releases with hashtags on Twitter so that I also win in visibility. The day of the release of a new title, I publish my title on my Soundcloud page and also on Twitter with hashtags adapted so that a maximum of persons can listen. Also on Soundcloud I publish my titles in groups that have full subscribers, for that other subscribers discover my music.

Exposed Vocals : If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?

ASAMI : I would really like to do concerts in the world and work with David Guetta, and also with Tetsuya Komuro who is a producer and Japanese composer very known and than I greatly admire. Why these two artists ?  because these two artists are my idols, and I love their music

Exposed Vocals : So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about ?

ASAMI : At the moment I’m working on new songs, but I don’t want to talk about, because it’ is secret. But what I can say it’ is that this year 2016 will be very intense in new titles

Exposed Vocals :  If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?

ASAMI : I don’t know what I would do if I not do make music, because music it’ is my life, a passion for me.

Exposed Vocals : Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?

ASAMI : The first album I bought was the last album of my favorite band TM Network which is a very popular Japanese group, which exist since 30 years and whose Tetsuya Komuro my idol is the producer and the composer.

Music is part of my life, she rhythm my life, and it’ is by listening this last album I have had this urge to create music and that I decided to become an artist like them.

Exposed Vocals : How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?

ASAMI : When you are an independent artist it is easier to juggle his private life and his music life.  In my case I always to find time to work on my music although I have of long days of class but be a student and be a artist /composer independent in addition, it’s work additional

Exposed Vocals : What should fans look forward to in 2016?

ASAMI : The Fans can hoped to have of the novelty, originality, music. And I intend to do my best to offer them of the music they will appreciate.
