Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Troy Remedy: Was born in West Texas but raised by the whole state. Currently reside in Dallas, TX
Reason I became an artist was to be respected for making quality music and to add on to the
abundant collection of good songs created by those who came before me.
Alot of people have lanes that they are in control of. This is mine.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Troy Remedy: Troy is my middle name. The word remedy describes how music has kept me alive all of these years
and been a cure of sorts to both what is and what’s to come.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Troy Remedy: Sharing isn’t bad and neither is getting paid. Personally, depends on the artist and what they want to
get out of their music. Definitely given mine away early on. Just wanted to be heard.
Can’t always charge what the ear captures.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Troy Remedy: Keep the songs and other aspects of your project at a high quality.
From recording to mastering and as small a detail as the font color
for your album cover don’t sell yourself short on effort or time spent.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Troy Remedy: The inspiration comes from my own and others’ pain, search for inner peace and chasing glory that might never
be captured. Being slept on, counted out and written off has always been the fuel.
Writing process is usually spontaneous.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Troy Remedy: troyremedy.net
i-Tunes/Amazon/Spotify
soundcloud.com/troyremedy
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Troy Remedy: Spread the wealth, make music and diversify my bonds.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Troy Remedy: Networking with like minded individuals. Walking the pavement and speaking
with the people to get a feel for what the streets think. Online services that provide
promotional assistance. What works best personally is just being consistent with the use
of those options.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Troy Remedy: “My Own Worst Enemy” album on the way. Songwriting and production projects with various artists
to include in the Songs of Remedy Publishing catalogue.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Troy Remedy: Wouldn’t be pretty.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Troy Remedy: Not sure how but been managing ok so far. Have no choice but to keep pushing. All of us have bills to
pay and unfinished business at hand. I try to keep that in mind.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the rest of 2018?
Troy Remedy: Good music.
