Stepping aside from the EDM charts, Drea Rose explores her soulful roots and shifts creative direction with “Intuition” – Exclusive Interview
Drea Rose offers a soulful take on the modern club sound, creating a new sonic landscape that’s equal parts fun and groundbreaking. Overall, this is a slam dunk of a track. ‘Intuition” is made for the dance-floor! This is going to make waves in the clubs and could go on to become the feel good song of the summer, as well as an instant hit in the meantime. This is a highly effective soulful track that combines a pop song structure with the elements of EDM that are needed to get people’s feet moving on the dance-floor. The song is packed with catchy hooks, especially the killer chorus, giving it an appeal that will go far beyond dance fans and should go down a storm with the Maroon 5 crowd with such a strong musical persona.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH DREA ROSE
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an
artist?
Drea Rose: I grew up in a small town on the central coast called Salinas CA. I’ve done music all my life
and don’t remember a time where I didn’t write songs or not want to take music on as a career. I started
classical guitar at 9 years old and played in bands throughout junior high/high school.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Drea Rose: Rose is my middle name. My family had always attached my middle name to my first like they
were connected.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for
free? Why?
Drea Rose: I think online music sharing has given many opportunities for artists like me. I enjoy
connecting directly with people on social media and sharing my music on all these various platforms. I try
and give out free content/music away as much as I can because the people who care enough to listen,
are the ones who give me the ability to do this.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists
looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Drea Rose: We have to remember that music/art is subjective, everyone has different tastes, and we
can’t give up because a tastemaker may hate it. I think it’s important to keep in mind that there’s an
audience for everything. We just have to keep lookin’
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Drea Rose: For sure! One time a piece of my hair got caught in the back of my throat and i literally had to
stop and pull it out. It was disgusting for sure haha. On a serious note, I keep going and make sure I
absolutely KILL the next part of the song. It’s always important to keep going.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy
hearing about?
Drea Rose: Sadly, not yet! I will soon enough!
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting
process?
Drea Rose: I try and pull inspiration from the smallest things and instances. I love to “people watch” and
observe others’ actions aside from writing about my own experiences and emotions. I don’t have one
formal way of writing a song. The melodies usually pop into my head when I’m in a quiet place or I start
journaling.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Drea Rose: I do! Drearosemusic.comI also upload new content on Instagram, Twitter and FB regularly
Instagram: @drearosemusic
Twitter: @drearosemusic
Facebook.com/drearosemusic
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Drea Rose: You’ll find every single Jonas Brothers album.. I still listen to them from time to time
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would
you spend it?
Drea Rose: I’d save it and go to Disneyland
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Drea Rose: Currently working on a UAD Apollo and I’m stoked to work with my new Slate Digital plugins
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Drea Rose: Instagram is my strongest and most engaging platform. But I like to look at case studies of
other people I’ve watched thrive along with the occasional millenial google technique.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who
would it be with? Why?
Drea Rose: It’d be cool to perform with HAIM at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. They seem like cool chicks.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Drea Rose: I have another single coming out very very soon! I can’t wait to announce and share it!
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Drea Rose: I’d be a music teacher

head?
Drea Rose: Britney Spears ‘Oops I Did It Again” was the first album I ever bought lol Unwrapping the CD
case and opening to that fresh brand new CD smell was so exciting.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your
music life?

areas of my life.
