Exposed Vocals just caught an interview with recording artist Bryan Mathers
Bryan Mathers is a Latin American recording artist & songwriter. Quickly gaining attention with his unique melodic flows.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
I’m from Chicago, but I moved to NY when I was about seven and been residing in the Bronx ever since. When I was in the fifth grade I was at my cousin’s crib and one of my older relatives put on an episode 106 & park and I was hooked after I always said id love to be on there as a guest.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Honestly my best advice is to stay consistent, and never ever sell yourself short. One of my biggest mistakes was that I would worry about other people’s opinions on my music, so it affected my entire creative process.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
I’ve made a few mistakes performing, I used to make it real obvious when I would and just completely freeze but now a day I’ve adapted so well that I know how to turn a mistake into a much more energetic performance.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
I haven’t toured yet unfortunately, but eventually I plan on it. I’d love to open for drake though.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
I’m always considering studio upgrades, I try my best to have the best quality because I’m making timeless music.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
As far as promoting I try to post consistently and keep in contact with all the fans who reach out, I study marketing and invest.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Ah man I’d love to hit Madison square garden with G Eazy, I grew up in NY so that defiantly been a dream of mine to have a show in the garden. And G Eazy is an incredible performer I’ve gone to a few of his live shows and the man is insanely talented
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
I’ve debated on working on a full-length project but I’m not sure I have 2 mixtapes out on SoundCloud but I’ve been dropping a single every Friday for the last 3 months. I think ill be sticking to that for a while
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
If I wasn’t making music I’d probably be chasing a career as a professional wrestler that’s been my dream since I was 5.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
Within the next year I plan on working with some of the biggest artist in the industry right now, just staying focused and making progress. New music every Friday follow my Instagram for all updates @bryan_mathers
