A New Old Way
I’m Stevie-Lee Belfield, Singer/Songwriter/Part time most other things from West Yorkshire, England. Currently looking at forming a new blues/rock/folk based band after a few years in the wilderness.
I started as a bass player back in the late ’90s with The Gift, before forming my own indie/rock band called The Forty5s who gigging around the Leeds area. This band transformed into Starcompany, who headlined the HMV Showcase, playing a rock/blues style. After they disbanded, I formed The Raskals, originally a Beatles tribute band, but we soon grew to incorporate other artists, such as Dylan, Hendrix, The Stones and some old blues numbers. I then went solo, returning to a folk/blues acoustic style in 2010, releasing two demo albums, before my first electric album Industrial Folk Movement in 2011. This was followed by Zero Minus Nothing in 2012, then Making Waves and Four Stones in 2013 before a couple of years off writing. I returned to the fold in 2016 with Old Originals (a compilation of delta blues songs from my favourite artists) and Heathen and this year I finished Penumbra, a rock album with strings, a project I’ve always wanted to do.
