All I Need Feat. The Captain and Groovy E (Prod. By BluntedBeatz)
There’s a definite sense of personality to this track that showcases the leading voices under a memorable light. Particularly that leading rap vocal, there’s a certain element of character to the performance and the flow, even to the lyricism and the story telling. The performance doesn’t draw many comparisons, the energy is fairly low-key, yet it seems to work well among this musical setting. The melodic part that comes in for the hook marks a welcome change in direction, and the second rap vocal that presents itself has a much more rhythmic and slightly higher energy flow about it. The two stand in effective contrast with each other, further underlining that sense of individuality about the recording.
Musically speaking the track sounds great, the beat fuses the mellow weight of hip-hop with the dreamy lightness of trip-hop or ambient electronica. The vocal sample pitched above everything else makes for a memorable signature trait that sets the mood well and provides that element of recognisability. The more you listen, the more the set up and structure of the track feels comfortable, it starts to really work its magic as you become more familiar with it all.
The track’s underlining sentiment is that of love and laid back living. It gives off a feeling of being grateful for what you have, the little things in life. The atmospheric nature of the music and indeed the calmness of the vocal performances feed into this concept brilliantly. It’s the perfect kind of song to relax to, the good vibes are there, and as you listen the lyricism keeps things relevant and peaceful at every moment. It sounds great, a go-to moment of positivity and composure.
