Singer/actor Trevor Jackson makes a bold return with the brand new single “B&W (Benz and My Wallet)”
igning a record deal with Empire and working on new material, has culminated with the release of Trevor Jackson’s ‘Rough Drafts Pt. 1’ project. The first glimpse of that is up above in the form of “B&W (Benz and My Wallet)”, Trevor’s new single and newly released visuals. The hella catchy track features an intriguing video which finds Trevor working out his problems with a bottle on the streets which premiered onCOMPLEX a few days ago.
On the concept of the video Trevor places emphasis on moderation and not losing ourselves in the process: “I love how the video turned out for me. I feel like if you love anything too much and don’t do anything [in] moderation, then you can lose everything, whether it be a girl that you gave too much of yourself to – make one false step with one girl and go too far and you can lose everything. But on the flipside, the song could be about alcohol or addictions that we struggle with as humans. We give ourselves too much of something and it can take everything away.”
Indiana-bred Trevor Jackson is the definition of a triple threat. At the age of 20 years old, he has already made a name for himself as a successful singer/songwriter, dancer, and actor who believes in taking his career into his own hands.
Trevor’s first steps into showbiz began with a three-year stint as Young Simba in Disney’s Tony Award-winning Broadway National tour of The Lion King. Following that success, he made his transition to television appearing on shows such as the SyFy original series Eureka, CBS’ Criminal Minds, Disney Channel’s blockbuster hit Let It Shine, as well as Harry’s Law for which he received the 2012 Young Artists Award in the category of “Best Performance in a TV Series – Guest Starring Young Actor 14-17.”
In addition to focusing on his new music, Trevor is currently shooting the ‘Black-ish’ spin-off, ‘Grown-ish’, opposite Yara Shahidi. He was recently named as one of Ebony’s “25 Young Guns of Black Hollywood.”
