Marios Papalexis – Let me be with you (Remastered)
Great piece of music, really even just the introduction has this professional and smooth sound – flawless instrumental choices, riffs and chords that set the right kind of mood for what will follow, and a fantastic production job. The song itself as it begins to unfold has a similar smoothness. The artist’s leading voice has a soft and intimate presentation to it that suits the overall vibe well and highlights the intimate and reflective essence of the song’s subject matter and message.
The melodies throughout work really well, the song has been thoughtfully structured, you find yourself following each moment with sever intent – hoping there may be some hopeful end to the story telling or this dedication of love. As the song progresses you may get a little complacent within the sound, but this is soon flipped entirely upside down as the soundscape suddenly pauses and this distorted, brief moment of intensity explodes into the room. Creatively there’s a lot to appreciate, but at it’s core this is a well written and deeply expressive song. The leading voice has a huge amount of character and that works well in creating a sound that is unique and memorable and fresh.
The song at times is slightly reminiscent of Twist in My Sobriety, this is not the melody or the subject matter, but the underlying rhythm and low tones of the music. It’s a welcome comparison and that type of melody and writing has been missing from much of modern music. The structure of it works well, and that personal touch keeps things very real and easy to relate to. There’s a secure presence to the music suggesting an artist who knows himself and his style well, so you can rely upon it and simply embrace the sound.
