Exposed Vocals just caught an interview with Anaheim, California Rapper ‘Tre Hermoso’
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Tre: I spent almost my entire life in East Anaheim, California. I was an outcast for the most part being the one of few black people at my schools. Didn’t really get into hip-hop until around 2012 during the peak of Odd Future’s hype. I think I gravitated to them because they were different like I was. The only difference was that they embraced the fact that they were “weird.” That is certainly something that I wish I had done at the time. Around junior year of high school we had rap battles at lunch. At that point, I knew I wanted to be a rapper then and there. I didn’t pursue rapping seriously until this year. I believe I’m the best rapper in Orange County currently.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Tre: To keep it a buck, I ain’t in no position to be giving advice to anyone starting up since I’m still starting up. I aint with the cliché “If you put out good music, people will follow.” Nah homie you gotta learn how to market yourself and your music. The best rapper in the world probably got 63 soundcloud plays because he don’t know how to promote himself.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Tre: I still haven’t performed live yet!!! I’m honestly an introvert. Im gon need like a lot of henny and a lot of weed for me to go on stage. I’m positive I’d be able to rock the crowd though.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Tre: No tour at the moment but Im gonna cook something up at the end of the year for my fans. Follow me on twitter @TreHermoso to stay updated on me
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Tre: I DON’T EVEN GOT A STUDIO. Last time I wanted to record I had to drive all the way to Dallas from OKC. I aint trippin on it though Im sure that stuff will be provided once I sign a deal.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Tre: Twitter is the way I normally promote my music. I was a twitter personality long before I thought about rapping. Blogs is another way to get your name out even though blogs don’t have the same power that they did 10 years ago.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Tre: Honda Center no question. It would be tight to have an arena show in front of my hometown fans ya dig? As far as what artists I’d pick? Hmmm that’s pretty tough. Vince Staples, Travis Scott and Drake would be my picks.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Tre: I plan to drop a mixtape at the end of the year called “Marijuana de Tijuana.” I plan to have some bangers. Imagine if skittles, the candy, was a rapper. Now imagine skittles rapping on tropical trap beats. That’s how it would sound.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Tre: Id be dead or in prison. I’m kidding. I’d probably be working a 9-5 in a cubical all while being sexually harassed by my female boss who is in her 40s. Definitely not the life Im trying to live ya dig?
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
Tre: Definitely some more music on the way. I got a podcast currently in the works just waiting to get that off and jumping. And like I said, the Marijuana de Tijuana mixtape is coming soon. I GUARANTEE I’m finna have a deal by 2018. Its not gonna be long until Tre Hermoso is gonna be synonymous with “the best rapper on the planet.”
Exposed Vocals: Any Shout-outs?
Tre: My mom and dad for making a beautiful talented son. Oh yeah that son be me.
