Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
Nirv: I heard about Exposed Vocals trying to get my music heard on twitter, i decided to sign up because i thought it would be a great way to get my music and my story of a upcoming artist heard .
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Nirv: I grew up in northwest Indiana, and what made me become an artist is the slow heavy sound of grunge and the fast rhythmic sound of electronic music put together, that gave me a dream sound i wanted make for a living .
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Nirv: I wanted something original, i wanted to make a name i can put themes to just like Zomboy has zombies, or the names of some of his albums have to do with infections, and just things along the lines of that, i picked Nirv, wanted something like nerve cells, and i could also name my albums off of the body and its internal systems.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Nirv: Sharing music is a incredible way of getting your music around, and yeah, i give the majority of my music away for free, i am planning on doing that until i gather a fair amount of fans that are willing to pay for my music.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Nirv: don’t start off big, slowly progress until you are confident that if you take a jump you will succeed in doing that .
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Nirv: I’ve never really performed for a crowd, i have for a few people but that’s it, this one time i had a midi track muted and spent an hour trying to figure on what was going on, i eventually found out
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Artist: no i have never toured, it would be great to but, I’m not that noticed. yet .
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Nirv: listening to other music similar to mine is a great inspiration for making music
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Nirv:no i don’t have a website yet, i will soon, but Sound cloud is #1 on my list, then twitter, and if this publicity helps out from this interview than this will be up there .
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Nirv: i have a seven minute Skrillex instrumental song i paid $2.50 for . it is not the best lol
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Nirv: i would spend half of it on the people i care about and then with the other $250,000 i would make a small studio in my house, filled with the newest music making software, and DJ equipment.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Nirv: i have abelton live 9 intro, i wish i had suite 9 that would make music production a lot more easier
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Nirv: Sound cloud, i can gather fans and show them my music at the same time, it is the #1 go to website to spread your music
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Nirv: if i could perform anywhere with anyone it would be nirvana live at reading, Kurt Cobain is my role model, that would be amazing to play with them
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Nirv: ah, yes, i have a VIP album coming out and possibly another EP
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Nirv: probably drawing, i have been a big artist ever since i was young, my dad is also a tattoo artist, so i kinda take a little bit after him
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Nirv: it was nirvana in utero platinum addition, i was so exited .
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Nirv:i just make time for both of them, i enjoy music a lot, but loved ones come first. i make music when i have extra time, if all of my time was dedicated to music i would be a lot more noticed than i am right now
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2015?
Nirv: they should look forward to big things, different sounds, new albums, and much more
