I grew up in the outer suburbs of London, I had a great group of friends at school, and we were huge Beatles fans, then one of my friends bought a guitar, and after a few months he came in with his guitar with a huge smile on his face, sat down and said listen to this! he  played love me do, and after listening to him we were all buzzing, then we said lets be The Beatles!. I thought if he can play it then I can, so that Saturday we all bought guitars and started a band, of course none of us could play at all, but that didn’t stop us from being in a band, we all bought leather jackets and flares, and told everyone we were in a band called The Magpies. I remember how amazed I was that you could make the sound from the stereo into real life, we jammed everyday, and eventually became great, in a few months I was quickly promoted to the lead guitarist in our group whilst my other friend was given the maracas, within a few months we had gigs booked at local talent shows. We all went to Uni and went our separate ways, but the music still remains in all of us, from then on I knew that this was going to be a passion of mine for life.
I’m a huge fan of online sharing, it gives everyone the chance to listen and download what they like without breaking the bank. I have got more music that i would ever dream of because of online sharing, its a huge step forward, plus i think it might be the reason why the charts are not sounding as good as they should because real music fans get there music for free.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Set up as many online outlets as you can, soundcloud, twitter, facebook, reverbnation, bandcamp, and don’t be afraid to send your music out to everyone including licensing record labels and blogs for exposure. There are many ways that you can gain exposure online, and it can get your music out to millions of new fans, there are many ways around the loophole of attracting new fans to start with by online promotion companies. Getting gigs are easy once you have a good online following. I enjoy playing open mics more because there is a larger crowd who are there to listen, when you play selected gigs it is solely your fans that you bring to the venue that are listening, so getting gigs with other bands and festivals are a lot more enjoyable and you can reach out to other music fans.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Everyone makes mistakes, the best advice is to laugh it off and continue with a sense of pleasure that it was only me that noticed it . Luckily its only me performing so I can quickly make up for it, I have a loop station and if it doesn’t loop in time I have to quickly erase it and re record the loop later in the song. I’ve seen many bands make a mistake and then classically all look at each other with a lemon taste in their mouths wondering how that happened, that’s the biggest give away lol, just keep playing, smile and laugh it off, or go into a solo because unless your music is on the radio and known globally the crowd will not notice, unless you pull that lemon face.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?ÂÂ
I’m a huge fan of touring, even when I’m not playing I’m always on tour globally in travelling, I do busking tours around Europe, the UK and Asia. My best tours have been a hazy dream. I remember still being up from the gig the night before, and I got a call from my promoter that afternoon saying someone just dropped out of a festival today do you want to play? I said yes, love it, I’m still up, he said considering you do psychedelic music that’s exactly what I want to hear!! get your bat, I’ll see you in an hour, after laughing in a state of euphoria, an hour later I was playing in front of two thousand people.Â
I get a lot of inspiration whilst travelling, or if I hear a new band online or on the radio I will always perk up and listen. I love going to festivals, and gigs, there are some artists that have blown me away live and I have immediately written songs because that was the sound I was looking for. I love jamming with others, and we make songs up on the spot, you cant beat hitting the record button with a few drinks, a great beat, and improvise, then sit back to listen and think wow, I can’t believe I just came up with that, then I create a song around it.
I have many band websites, I use Reverbnation, Soundcloud, Twitter, Facebook, plus my own website

Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it? ÂÂ
I would be swinging in a hammock, playing my guitar with a beer on the side, just in reach of the swing of my hammock, looking out to sea while I decide where I’m going to get mashed this evening.
I’m working with Magix music maker at the moment, its pretty awesome because you have built in synths and effects that you can play on your keyboard, I’ve bought a U37 condenser microphone for my laptop so I can record high quality professional music whilst travelling.
I have had some licensing contracts for my song that have been featured by o’ neill for the snowboarding finals.

v=7uHHzeJQVWI I use twitter, blogs and internet radio features, I have been played on many internet radio stations globally which creates a snowball effect. I have five albums available to stream and download all outlets through Cd baby. Spotify is a great service where I have had over 50,000 streams
John lennon, George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Noel Gallagher, because they are all legends.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
I’m half way through my next album which sounds a lot more psychedelic than my previous albums, I’ve got access to a lot of crazy sounds than ever before so its going to sound epic. I will be living in Vietnam next year so I will be tripping out the hippy travellers in Siagon, and organising an Asia tour.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing? ÂÂ
Swinging in a hammock, teaching meditation and yoga, and drawing crazy new age art.
The first album I bought was Rubber Soul by The Beatles, I was blown away by their sound, I always loved harmonies and I was taken to a transcendental  place for the first time.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life? ÂÂ
Making music and Touring has always been my aim, and I’ve always had jobs to coincide with it, I was a European Tour guide for two years, I used this to create a European tour for myself, I basically rang up the best bars in the next city, and said i can bring 100 people to your venue, and then i promoted my gig to all of the passengers and we packed out each bar in every city with me playing, loved it. I used to work 4 days on, 4 days off so I organised 3 day tours around the UK, I am currently Teaching English in Asia so i will be working one year on 6 months off, so i will be touring on my time off, I’ll be heading to Siagon next year where there are plenty of travelling hippies waiting to hear some psychedelic sounds.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2016? Â
Look out for a new psychedelic album, more radio plays across the world, more songs in adverts and films across the world. Watch out Asia because there is some awesome psychedelic surfing music coming your way.
