“look forward to the takeover” – Exclusive interview with Kelly G
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist? Â
Kelly G: Â I grew up in Aba, a city that is considered to be one of the most under developed cities in my country (Nigeria) . I decided to become an artiste basically because I wanted to speak out for the voiceless, and I need to put food on my table
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Kelly G: Â My birth name is Jim-Kelly. And the G is an acronym for Greatness
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Kelly G: Â I think online music sharing is a very great platform for an artist to expand his/her fan base. I have been giving my music out for free to increase my fan base, that might stop when I become more established
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Kelly G: I’m still a “start-up†compared to my dream goals. But I think the basic key to a mansion of success is prayer. Hardwork, determination and consistency help as well
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Kelly G:  I don’t believe in mistakes, I believe in lessons. Besides, I’m that type of artist that will do almost anything and everything to entertain my audience

My soundcloud too – www.soundcloud.com/kellygdike
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Kelly G:  I have some songs from some A-list artistes in my country that I consider whack lol… I don’t wanna mention names though
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it? Â
Kelly G:  I will pay the people I owe – God, my mom and my community. Then I’ll take care of myself and career. You don’t wanna know what next
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now? Â
Kelly G:  I’m presently working on my mobile studio so I can dish out music more consistently
