“hip hop’s the best avenue for me to take to express myself” N-iGmA “Toast”
“Growing up open minded to music, I found hip hop to be the best avenue for me to take to express myself musically. Out of all the artist that I heard at that time, I felt more of a style relation to Rakim. Eventually, I started to listen to 2pac, which opened my mind to artists like Nas and Jay-z. “

Even though he began performing in elementary school around the age of 5, doing talent shows and school plays, N- iGmA truly found his love for Hip Hop when he would collaborate with his older cousins Kenrick Miranda, Godston Miranda, and their close friend Damon Shelton. He found himself mesmerized as a witness to their excessive involvement in the music industry. Watching them record, produce beats, design album covers, perform, etc. created the passion in him that he now has for Hip Hop. Discovering N- iGmA’s interest, it wasn’t long before they had the young Hip Hop artist recording in the studio with them. Around the age of 10, his cousins were asking for permission from N- iGmA’s parents to take him to late night sessions that would sometimes run as late as one o’clock in the morning. “Back then we had to actually go to a studio because it was cheaper to record at night.” he explains.
Being mentored by artist such as King- Tee, Scotty D, and Aziatic only enriched N-iGmA’s passion for his music. N-iGmA has also performed alongside various artists, which include: Elephant Man, Collie Buddz, Tanya Stephens, Wayne Wonder, Luciano, Beenie Man, and Beres Hammond.
N- iGmA’s love for the art of Hip Hop has expanded his social network extensively and has allowed him to meet, collaborate with, and share his talents with many people. Encouraged by this and the ability to express himself creatively through his music has improved his work ethic with the goal to prosper and become more involved in the music industry. With N- iGmA’s impressive background and utilization of the Belize culture in his music, his unique style puts him on route to being Hip Hop’s newest lyrical MC.
