Exposed Vocals just caught an interview with Fabian of Délic
They are Venezuelan and for music it has been really tough because the music industry is dying in this country and the chrisis is worse everyday. Because all of that They have had lots of problems to keep their passion going forward but with hard work and determination everything is possible! The band have released two English-Language Rock songs and one Spanish-Language love song until now.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Fabian: well, I grew up in El Vigia Venezuela and since Ive got memory I have loved to make music! I played in several bands since I was 12 years old, I used to play the bass and with bands with different styles like ska,Heavy metal, Punk, etc. Like Deidnert I love all styles of rock. right now im the vocalist and guitarist and Deidtner the bassist.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Fabian: Actually, there wasnt too much thinking about it, we were just doing a brain storming and I remember I said Delic and from that moment we have loved that name. neither in Spanish or English Delic has a meaning or at least that is what we think lol. but, anyway that was what made us choose this name.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Fabian: well, for example our song Un Poco De Tiempo wich is a beautiful latin ballad by the way is for free online. We sometimes give songs away for free because and the end of the day the most important thing is to share emotions and express ourselves and this is what songs are, expressions of the soul!
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Fabian: We are also growing right now. We just have released three songs at the moment and in our country it hasnt been easy for musicians so I think the best advice I can give them is Believe in yourselves and make things happen!
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Fabian: well, my big mistake in the past was to play drunk, I have already resolved that. I havent drank for years so I think the rest is pretty easy to handle. If you make a mistake just continue and dont make it bigger than it really is. The show must go on!
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Fabian: well, With Delic we havent gone on tour because the band is really new, we just have one year since we released our first song so. But, we expect to start touring in 2017. right now we are working at the studio creating songs.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Fabian: I dont really have a script for this it just comes and when it does I have to grab my guitar and record it or sometimes im just practicing with my guitar and I hear something I like and the rest is bringing this little idea to life.
Exposed Vocals:Â Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Fabian: we dont have a website right now but we use several platforms such as: Soundcloud, Instagram and Youtube.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Fabian: Well, I dont think you can find something of that kind because all music is amazing because songs are expressions of the soul.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
Fabian: travelling, travelling and travelling. did I also say that i like to travel?
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Fabian: We are working on finishing our two Souncloud Playlists:
Bittersweet sounds:Â English-Language rock.
Sonidos Suaves:Â Spanish-Language rock.
Each playlist will include more than eight songs… It will be awesome!
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Fabian: Right now in venezuela it is very difficult to play so what is really working for us right now is promoting the band through the internet! it has been great so far!
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Fabian: Easy one! We would love to play with Coldplay. the place doesnt matter, we are citizens of the world so wherever people enjoy music is good to me.why coldplay? Because we love this band!
