Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
I grew up in Cyprus and Greece and I begun singing since ... before i manage to talk actually. I love singing. Is the oxygen of my soul. Way to express, to live , to breath, to go on! Music is magic! I have begun performing live on stages since I was 11 years old. I remember my self backstage, frond stage, it was my second home. My parents were both interacted in Music so the influence was inevitable. All kinds. From classical repertoire like Edith Piaf to Boney-M and then of course Pop/Rock all kinds. Amazing range in all categories.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
I think the most important step for someone who wants to get involved with music is education, Music Education. Learn an instrument, get theory, harmony, learn what it takes to compose music, how to write lyrics etc! Then is important to love what you do and not doing it just for the spotlight. Of course after that you need to begin to outflow your Music. Promote it, present it, start from small gigs before you end up in a bigger one!
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Oh, haha, yes of course. during a live performance it is possible to make mistakes. If it one that you can not hide, then just joke about it with your audience, if it a small one and you can cover it, then just do it and go ahead. No matter what, never stop, or never show or feel embarrassed. GO ON! If you face it with humor and you are cool about it I am telling you that the audience will love it! Never allow the audience to become your judge! When you are on stage remember that you are the one who sends the energy to them! They are your mirror. If you feel confident, they will get it. If you feel bad then they will get it and it will return to you as a boomerang. A stage is a pedestal. Treat it like that, but always remain humble to your audience and never forget that you are the Entertainer for them!
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Oh YES I DO tour. The last time I was in Germany where I always think they are tough audience I finished the program and for 5 continuing minutes they stood up and applause! It was wonderful. My pianist and I said another song as it was on demand , but they didn't let us go. So I remember we said like 3 more songs in a whole that weren't in the schedule. Some moments are worth to recall and remember as when you close your eyes and bring them back to memory you can do nothing but smile!
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
I am not so frequently in a studio as I am in rehearsal room for live shows. What I love most on live shows is that they give me the chance to dance along with my dancers while performing. That part fulfills me! I love it when I sing and dance same time. It is so energetic and so fun!
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Social media is a great way to advertise today if you know how to do it right and how to use it right! Then, of course, is interviews and if you have the chance through T.V channels. However there are several platforms today where one can send some promotional staff and get a viral review in more than 100 blogs and sites same time.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Freddie, Elvis, Whitney ... so many for so different reasons. Celine, Barbra, Katy Perry, Pink, all of them are divas I love. There is also a trio, called Il Volo, oh my God! They are the definition of magnificent when it comes to lyric Music. Imagine all the above being contacted from Andre Rieu! That would be a blast!
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
I am working on a new project right now, a big one, but not much to say yet. We need to wait a bit.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Honestly I do not know! Really, never thought of it. I guess I would sing in the shower (haha) or while I was cooking. I don't think I could live without making or recreating Music!
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
I like to call people who are listening to me "audience", not "fans". We can all be fans of one another, you know I admire you for this, you admire me for that, I think that way it works better. When I dance on stage with my dancers I feel part of the team not the queen. So for the next year let's all look to create more beautiful moments on stage and off stage. Let's rehearse as hard as we can and make more beautiful and bigger shows!
