Jerad Finck teamed up with U.K. remixer Seawaves for a new version of “New Kids.”
Finck’s original single sold over 40,000 downloads and so far has over 2 million streams on Spotify. Not bad for an unsigned indie artist. He is releasing the remix version in support of
Everytown.Org – for Gun Safey.
Finck recently charted on Billboards top 50 Emerging Artists list
“New Kids” opens with potently emerging synths, followed by a muscular groove thrumming with dynamism, as the throbbing bassline and syncopated drums secure the beat. The flowing energy of the music escalates slowly across the verse and bridge, then ramps up to celestial levels on the chorus, as layers of harmonics swell on deep textures.
Finck’s voice ranges from hushed and portentous to discharging galvanizing resonant tones. It’s a dominating voice that achieves sonic hegemony by means of projection and rich, affluent tones rather than by screaming. Frankly, it’s one of the best male voices around, melodic, buff, yet singularly evocative.
The Seawaves remix of “New Kids” exudes reverberating intensity and a brawny rhythm hard to resist. The harmonic colors ache with titanic pulses, as Jerad Finck’s compelling tones assert their vitality in this superb version of “New Kids.”
