How hip-hop and soccer fused together to create a successful business. [Interview with The Verce]
Exposed Vocals: How did you 3 meet?
(Archie Eversole) – I was working on a new project and a friend of mine told me I needed to meet and work with this insanely creative new hip-hop dude name The Verce. We created a few dope songs in studio and never looked back. Verce later introduced me to his homie Damond who is a successful owner of a website developing firm called Dfd3signs. Verce and Damond were working on building this revolutionary music website for his new album titled “VTL”. I liked Diamond’s work ethic and invited him into my situation and the rest is history.
Exposed Vocals: What made you decide to start this company?
(The Verce) – Well Archie’s classic hit song “We Ready” was getting traction again. Our Atlanta United Soccer team’s supporter groups gravitated toward it and the song blew up again. The team approached Archie and he quickly became the voice of Atlanta United. After that his song was attached to any and everything sports related. I’m talking TV, radio etc. I watched the interaction from fan to fan when the song played and knew we needed to provide them with something visual to go with the song. So WeReadyGear.com was formed.
Exposed Vocals: What is the reason for the success of the brand?
(Damond) – Well the design was a key element to the success. We created something that not only looks good but represents the emotion of our consumer. Plus we created something of value and great quality. WeReadyGear.com is more than a brand it’s a culture.
Exposed Vocals: Have you always enjoyed soccer?
(Archie) – Yes I’ve followed the sport for as long as I can remember. This ain’t no money grab ya heard. I really follow and do this for the luv of the game. Even before the success of our home team.
Exposed Vocals: What advice can you give to others who are starting a business?
(Damond) – Make sure you do it the right way with no short cuts. Believe in what you do and others will believe in you. Find your lane in the market and drive through it.
Exposed Vocals: Has this company’s popularity help increase the success of Archie Eversole and The Verce musically?
(Verce) Yeah for sure. I noticed a huge spike in sales for my song “Another Round with Snoop Dogg” and my song “Matt McConaughey”. Thank yall I am truly blessed. (Archie) Yeah my Atlanta United song “United We Conquer” is getting mad luv from the city and yall already know “We Ready” is booming again. God has blessed me.
Exposed Vocals: What does WeReadyGear.com have planned for the future?
“Verce” – We started out small and noticed all of our products kept selling out the same day. We quickly expanded our selection to satisfy and keep up with our consumer’s needs. Now we are leveling up and partnering with a few commercial retailers. Look for us in a store near you soon.
