Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
2Lz: I was on twitter seen the profile dedcided to check the website out and liked what I seen
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
2Lz: I was born in Atlanta Georgia and moved to Kinston North Carolina as a kid. _What made me want to make music my family is full of musicians and singers they had a big influence on me just seeing platinum and gold plaques around the house I couldn’t help it music chose me but my brothers were the one to inspire me Jerry,Theodore, and Calvin were the ones who started me on the path Im on with music.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
2Lz: Its kind of an embarrasing story but I got in a fight in high school and to this day I cant remember what happen and I have been jumped before I count those as losses so I came up with the moniker 2 Lz Losses
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
2Lz: I love online music sharing it gave all us artist/producers a voice and a way to share our story.Yes I give out free music you have to these days buying music is a luxury and you have to give back to the fans to let them know that they are important in the 2 Lz movement
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
2Lz: Look everywhere turn over every rock you have to be persistent as far contacting people and be consistent with your music first of all, have good content to bring to the table create that need for your song to get played and promoters to request you to perform.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
2Lz: Im a producer first off but I also have songs Ive featured on as far as performances the only thing I could say is be as confident as you are in that song ang a perform it with that same confidence.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
2Lz: No I dont tour but I do have a interesting fan story though were I was being photographed by a fan and I didnt know until later when the pictures was posted thats one of the times I felt like I was doing someething in life lol.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
2Lz: When Im writing a song or a feature verse it usually depends on what the track is saying then I let my imagination and things that have happened to me take over same way when I produce beats I go wherever my imagination goes
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
2Lz: I just started my own website trillgvd.com about a month ago. Soundcloud is where most of the music is at .Youtube is another big part of what I do and Itunes
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
2Lz: I wouldnt really call anything in my playlist embarrassing but I listen to alot of Parliament Funkadelic greatest group of all time in my opinion.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
2Lz: I dont think I could take a half of year off but there is a few people I would love to take care of first and the rest of the money would go back into getting my own studio
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
2Lz: I really have my eyes on the Pro Tools S6 console, and another MPC 5000. Right now I work with the MPC 5000, MPK49,Ableton Live,Protools,IMac Desktop and Mbox Pro 3 those few things have taken me to places I never imagined being
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
2Lz: It use to be just put your music up and people would find now its email this person call this person give the fans something put out mixtapes give out Itunes cards. I would say the best way is you have to money behind it let the professionals do it. As artist especially underground artist we might not have the same reach as the people who promote artist/producers for a living. Create that relationship with them where both parties ideas can come together for better promotion.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
2Lz: I would have to say George Clinton and we would perform in Dubai. Im a Hip Hop artist/producer but that would be legendary to me
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
2Lz: I have a few upcoming projects Im working on TRVLL 2INCE 87′ will be out soon on Itunes, myself and fellow DRVMLXNER Calvin Green(PapoeTheKing) will be executive producing a underground legend from NC artist J-ReeL on a mixtape and album dropping later this year and Im working on my next album Trilluminati: Trill World Order that will be out later this year as well.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
2Lz: If I wasnt doing music I would probably be somewhere coaching high school basketball. Basketball was my first love so I would love to share my knowledge of the game with the younger kids
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
2Lz: (Laughs) DMX Its Dark And Hell Is Hot at the age of 11 mind blowing my mom took the tape and hid it i found it that album made me love rap music
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
2Lz: I keep everything in perspective sometimes you gotta do things to get back to feeling like a regular person.

2Lz: 2015 has been my year so far as buzz an opportunities so expect big things even better music and hear 2Lz name everywhere
