Exposed Vocals Interviews TrueLogic
Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
TrueLogic: I heard about Exposed Vocals through Twitter and thought this was an opportunity to showcase my songs to people to get some recognition.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
TrueLogic: I was actually born in Decatur, Alabama, but was raised in the A-Town (Athens) Alabama,I was the kid that always wanna dream big and have his name said on a big stage, but people told me i couldn’t do it or that people wouldn’t like you. What made me become an artist was when i made my very first song called Living. After that i Inspired myself to make an short mixtape called #HotTopic. it didn’t go out like i wanted to, but i just had faith that someone with know who i am.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
TrueLogic: The name TrueLogic was something i came up with while writing my music. I Had example names like Yung B, Big I, Yung Blocka, but those name never matched up with TrueLogic. and my inspiration towards it was by underground rappers. They seem to speak about the truth and that got me thinking i could be like them one day. SO, yea.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
TrueLogic: Online sharing is the best way for new and upcoming music artist to get their music out there. i always get my music out for free because people wanna hear your works and be able to let others know about it. if i didn’t i wouldn’t be the artist that i am today.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Artist: There is one group in my town and a few people i gotta give tips on. the group is called LGB. they are really good, but it seems as tho that they don’t have that blazing fire in their hearts to deliver the verses. My homeboys pREACH and MA White (Both live in the same state as me, also did a collaboration with them) Yall are good musicians, you just got really give it out there and never quit what you doing. always stay true to what you bring.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
TrueLogic: I haven’t forreal performed my music on stage, but if i was in that situation, i would say yes i would make mistakes. People in this world make mistakes, but it’s up to us to be able to not make it again. The only way to overcome it is to laugh it out. if you slip on stage to your butt and people see that, they wanna know if you are ok. Just laugh it out and people will indicate that he/she is alright and ready to go.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
TrueLogic: I never toured yet, but i would let you know when that happens, haha
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
TrueLogic: I gathered my inspiration in the streets and from like experience. i never talk about any bullshit that i don’t mean. If i did, then why am i a music artist. My songwriting process starts off by my waking up in the morning, getting my clothes on, set up my little home studio, find a beat, and write the lyrics. after that it’s getting the song out there on soundcloud and see what people think about it.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
TrueLogic: I mostly us soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/truelogic-1. that’s mostly been the main place i putted my music out there. also i have a music page on facebook and a youtube account
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
TrueLogic: Right now i am confident in my songs, except for one song that’s called Come To Me. it was like 3 years ago when i made it and i still dread it till this day of making it.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
TrueLogic: If i was giving half a million dollars, i would help my mom and folks pay for any bills that nee s to be paid and save the rest for my cousin’s way to collage. but a year of i would say no. i wouldn’t mind being out of the music for 3 months, but after that, i couldn’t take it. it feels like i missed out on some good opportunities to deliver some good songs out to the people
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
TrueLogic: Once this music from soundcloud gets noticed and recognized, i would plan on being in a big studio and getting more songs on deck and maybe, just maybe get signed with a record deal. As of now i am working with a computer, an Audacity software, a usb mic, stand, and headphones
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
TrueLogic: Mostly through soundcloud. i sometimes tell my friend to check my work on Facebook and get feedback, because feedback to me is important to me because it will help me improve my style and my work.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
TrueLogic: If i could perform with a music artist, dead or alive, i would say 2 PAC at Cochella. His vibe that he has on the west side can have an affect on me and i can be able to use that to make my music good and the best. 2 PAC had and will always have an affect on my life as an teenager and as an upcoming rapper.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
TrueLogic: as of right now i am bout to finish up my 2nd mixtape: Life of a Bama Kid which will come out on July the 30th. after that i plan on making an album with a production and hope for the best so that i can be able to let the streets know who can make it out.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
TrueLogic: I would be playing video games, haha. that’s been my thing since i was 10. but if i didn’t have the music, i would probably take up drawing. i love to draw almost anything, but im not that good of one.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
TrueLogic: I think my first album was childish gambino because of the internet. i was thinking that he has the style of music and the style of clothing as me so its like me an him can compare with each other on those things
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
TrueLogic: I try to think about how i became a music artist and what it comes with. i don’t just go full fledged into it and think it was going to be all fine. I have to look at it first and she how its gonna turn out. whenever i make a song, i always see will this excite the audience im trying to bring.
