Exposed Vocals interviews Rudy Zensky with Ensis Records
Rudy Zensky is back on Ensis Records with another instant crowd favorite! But “Tesla” is not just another piece of madness, it is his new sound! A massive electro house tune that is going to make your speakers cry in no time! An epic blend between hard-hitting sounds and a one-of-a-kind melody which reminds us of Dyro’s and even Knife Party’s style due to its sick, crispy and dirty sounds! Also supported by names like Alexandra Damiani, Chris Mc Dyre, DJ BL3ND and many more, trust me “Tesla” represents the perfect choice for any festival set! You can’t miss this one, so listen it with a simple click below and make sure that you grab your own copy while it’s hot!
Exposed Vocals: How did you hear about Exposed Vocals? What made you decide to sign up?
Rudy: I figured it would be a pretty neat artist service to use! I just found it while doing research on the internet on more ways to promote myself.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
Rudy: In a small town here in Romania. Becoming a music producer was fairly related to the fact I studied piano for about ten years.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
Rudy: Rudy Zensky… Well, Rudy is what people call me and Zensky, that was mostly just a random thought. I felt it sounded good, so I went with it.
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
Rudy: Free music is pretty widespread and important in today’s scene, since it’s less and less about sales and more about streaming nowadays. Yes, I give out free tracks fairly often, I feel they help me grow faster than paid releases.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Rudy: Send out a lot of e-mails with your work to relevant people. Sooner or later someone will pick it up and like it!
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
Rudy: I don’t make mistakes during performances because I never actually had “real” performances. I only played at some small private parties with people I knew.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Rudy: No, as said, I don’t tour or play shows yet.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
Rudy: It can be a movie scene, a book, other tracks, a video game, inspiration can come from a lot of things. I usually just play around till I get a nice idea going, and then I build around that.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
Rudy: Yeah, you can check www.rudyzensky.com, but I mostly use soundcloud and facebook to showcase my work.
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
Rudy: I don’t think I’d be embarassed by anything you can find in my mp3 player now. Go back 5 years though haha, that’s a different story. J
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do?
How would you spend it?
Rudy: I’d probably just go and see the world as much as I can, that would be awesome.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
Rudy: Just a pair of M-audio monitors and my computer, not a big deal. I’m looking into buying a personal DJ controller soon.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Rudy: Word of mouth or internet research mostly.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Rudy: Probably I’d perform at one of the world’s major festivals, with one of my favourites. Knife Party and Dyro come to mind right now.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Rudy: I got a lot of upcoming tracks, just stay tuned for them!
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
Rudy: I’m also a law student, so, I’d probably just dedicate more time to that instead.
Exposed Vocals: Do you remember buying your first album? Who was it? What was going through your head?
Rudy: I think the first thing of this type I bought was Knife Party’s Haunted House EP. I just loved it too much and wanted to support the creators, so I bought it.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
Rudy: A tiny bit of time management and everything goes just fine.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in 2015?
Rudy: A lot of new music!
