Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
J french: I’m from OKC, Ok born and raised grew up around music all of my life. My father (Brother Num) is a musician and was touring most of my life. I didn’t decide to become an artist, I was pretty much born to be an artist.
Exposed Vocals: How did you come up with that name? What was your inspiration behind it?
J french: J french is some what my real name. French is my mothers maiden name. My government name is Jamal Williams. I just want to be as authentic as possible whilst experimenting artistically
Exposed Vocals: What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?
J french: I think its a good way to stay in tune with your fans. Ive got a mixtape coming out right now called Massacre the Mixtape thats free.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
J french: DO YOUR HOMEWORK lol.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
J french: When people are there to see you.. It doesn’t matter what you do. they still love you.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
J french: I’m going on tour In February. The tour ls called Lovers Only. look out for that.
Exposed Vocals: Where do you usually gather songwriting inspiration? What is your usual songwriting process?
J french: I listen to a lot of old school music. I’m just inspired by flavor.
Exposed Vocals: Do you have a band website? What online platforms do you use to share your music?
J french: I’m currently redoing the site. But you can find alot of mixtape stuff on You tube, Soundcloud, reverbnation Datpiff, hnhh..
Exposed Vocals: What are some really embarrassing songs that we might find on your mp3 player?
J french: lol Hello by Lionel Richie, Beyoncé dangerously in love.
Exposed Vocals: If you were given half a million dollars and a year off, what would you do? How would you spend it?
J french: I’d probably open another business lol.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
J french: I’m the process of building a new studio in Dallas we’re almost done with it. should be done by January.
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
J french: Social media is the best outlet. like I said before I stay in tune with my fans.
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
J french: Michael Jackson. because he’s the greatest performer of all time!
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
J french: I have a mixtape coming called “Massacre the Mixtape” set to drop this week. And I am working so hard on the album “Too A.M.” that will drop next spring.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
J french: Painting.

J french: Krs one. he’s was just so dominating.
Exposed Vocals: How do you juggle the rest of your responsibilities while trying to stay ahead in your music life?
J french: without a good team, you can’t go too far.
