Exposed Vocals: So tell us your story. Where did you grow up? What made you decide to become an artist?
My story starts on a humble farm where my space ship crashed when i was just a baby, Salt Lake City, Utah. As much speculated, I didn't grow up mormon, but did go to church with my grandma and was LDS for a while, and that's when I was in my first band, at 14, it was a Christian rock band, and if we sang about more than Jesus, and I didn't disband the group because of personal reasons, it probably could've been pretty cool. But I've always wanted to be an artist, honestly for as long as I could remember, I wanted to be something like Gwen Stefani when I was really young and later on it was Hayley Williams, but it was always, music, it was always rock that I wanted to do, it almost beckoned me, and here we are!
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Honestly, don't. give. up. I, personally, can attest this, I've been in and out of so many bands, a lot of the time it can feel like it's never going to work out, there's always going to be those band mates that are only in it for the fun and those that think they're the god of the sun or some shit, but as long as you keep pushing for it, keep putting in the work and dedication, you'll find your people, or rather, they'll find you. And once you do, just write songs like crazy, record, make covers, do whatever you can with what you've got and keep working.
Exposed Vocals: Do you ever make mistakes during performances? How do you handle that?
I like to pretend I'm all around perfect, but as said by the great prophet "Hannah Montana" 'everybody makes mistakes, everybody has those days,' but since I'm the basic yu gi oh master of fucking up, I usually just own it to the best that I can or pretend it was suppose to be like that.
Exposed Vocals: Do you tour? Anything interesting happen on tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
As of now, we are not touring, this bands been on a bit of a hiatus, as there's only been one member for about the past year. And I think the only interesting thing would be just me fucking up my own lyrics at acoustic sets
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What are you working with now?
As of now, we're working with a lot of basic equipment, your basic interface to mic, to computer, electronic drums, midi, and working with programs like Reason and Abelton Live. But later on in the year we plan on working with a studio in Denver, so that'll be h*cka
Exposed Vocals: How do you find ways to promote your music? What works best for you?
Honestly, social media is a god send, that and just regularly going to local shows and really forcing myself in to the quote on quote "scene." And just taking all opportunities that come our way, every form of promotion is good!
Exposed Vocals: If you could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
oooooo oh my god I adore this question, personally, my two favorite bands in probably the entire galaxy, unless you know alien bands are as good as Star Wars makes them out to be, would be The Beatles and Blink-182, now granted, that would more than likely be quite the cattywampus lineup, that would be my dream artists to play with, solely because of a. the whole nostalgia, omg this was my childhood factor and b. it would seriously be a life changing experience even if it went horribly bad.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
YES, yes, yes, yes. At the end of this particular month in which it is (January 2017) or even possibly early next month, we'll be releasing a new cover that we've been hard at work creating and stealing from another artist but changing at the same time, so that's fun.
Exposed Vocals: If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
I'm fairly certain that if I wasn't making music, I'd probably be overtaking a small South American country and claiming to be their dictator, astronaut, king, but you know, just regular, average Joe, type stuff.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
Well... no spoilers but here soon a new cover that we're pretty stoked to be releasing and after that new music should be expected... and a new sound were extremely excited about releasing
