DJ T. returns with the first single taken from his debut album ‘Boogie Playground’. The Frankfurt native has been a vital player on the electronic music scene since the late 80s; founding German-language monthly music bible Groove magazine in 1989, holding residencies at seminal clubs including Monza in Frankfurt, that he opened with friends in 1999. He began his production career with a collaboration with Steve Bug on Pokerflat but has since been found with tracks or remixes on labels like 20:20 Vision, ArtofDisco and Naked Music. In 2002 he founded Get Physical Music with friends M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade, his outstanding releases for the label include the well known ‘Freemind’, ‘Electrofied’, ‘Philly’ and most recently the acid laced ‘Time Out’.

Here DJ T.’s heartfelt influences of electro, disco, italo, acid, Detroit and Chicago house are displayed but given a new shape for today. ‘Rising’ is low slung but high energy house. Starting deep and moody it gradually builds with layer upon layer of cut up vocal stabs and sub bass, licked with snares, into a dense and hypnotising dancefloor groove. Completely addictive, this is happily T.’s favourite track from the album. On the flip, ‘Galaga’ is more obviously a techno cut created for the feet, engaging with acid bleeps and forceful beats. Named after one of T.’s favourite childhood arcade games, it conjures images of fighting spaceships and furious movement. Get your freak on.
